Temjanika Aristokrat is a wine produced by Popova Kula Winery from North Macedonia. In 2004, Jordan Trajkov founded this winery out of his love for wine, rich traditions and the preservation of local production methods. Located on the southern slopes of the Vardar Valley, just west of Demir Kapija, Popova Kula sits in a historic region where vines have been cultivated since 1300 BC.
The name «Popova Kula» pays homage to a legendary tower that once served as a control post on the ancient Roman road that passes near its location.
Popova Kula is a unique complex that includes a winery, an elegant hotel with 33 rooms, a restaurant with a beautiful terrace, a children’s area, a campsite and a wine and gift shop.
The continental microclimate of the Tikvesh region, with warm summer days and exceptionally cool nights, lends itself perfectly to the art of winemaking.
Temjanika, also written Tamjanika, is an indigenous variety from the Balkans, related to the Muscat family. Its name derives from the Slavic word tamjan, meaning «incense», in reference to its extraordinarily aromatic fragrance. It is one of the most fragrant varieties in the entire Balkan region.
Temjanika Aristokrat is produced in the Tikvesh wine region, in Demir Kapija, from 100% Temjanika grapes, using the most sophisticated oenological products — enzymes and yeasts — to preserve the aromas of this delicate wine.
