2020 Kai-Simone Cabernet Sauvignon

2020 Kai-Simone Cabernet Sauvignon. Kai-Simone Winery produces this wine, Kai-Simone Cabernet Sauvignon, in Spring Branch, Texas, USA. It seems to me that it is the first wine that we bring you that is produced in this area of the North American country.

Although its name suggests that it is a single varietal wine, this is not the case, as the majority Cabernet Sauvignon is joined in the blend by a presence of the Petite Sirah varietal. A graduation of 13% vol. which already shows that, although it has character, we may have before us a powerful wine, but not too powerful.

In the visual phase of the tasting it is an intense red wine, with ruby reflections, very covered, clean, bright, with abundant tears and purplish reflections as it moves in the glass.

In the nose we find a medium-high intensity, powerful, fragrant aromas of fruit, mainly black, such as blackcurrants, accompanied by a few contributions from the stay in oak barrels, where we find hints of chocolate, dark chocolate, subtle hints of wood, toast, coffee, vanilla.

Full-bodied attack on the palate with character, good acidity, voluminous, tasty, with a good structure that gives it capacity for ageing. The tannins are present and well worked and softened. Quite ample volume on the palate. Very good persistence and a fairly long finish.

A wine that after its tasting deserves the qualification of Very Good, reaching a score of 91 points.

A wine that we liked very much and that allows us to see that in Texas they also make elegant wines that allow us to enjoy a tasting with an evolution of sensations.
