L’Avi Pagès Brut Nature Gran Reserva 2014
Today we travel to San Jaime Sesoliveres in Catalonia, to discover a cava from the winery “Pagès Entrena”, and it is none other than L’Avi Pagès Brut Nature Gran Reserva 2014.
A cava that in the visual phase of the tasting leaves us in the glass a golden color, fine and persistent bubbles that clearly forms the crown in the glass.
On the nose we approach the glass and creamy aromas that transport us to French pastries and toasted nuts, the result of its long aging. It has a dry taste, a lot of volume in the mouth and a balance with exceptional acidity, which gives it a refreshing sensation. It maintains a small and persistent bubble, which keeps a moderate effervescence very versatile at a gastronomic level.
In the mouth it leaves a sharp, acidic and effervescent entry, the bubble is present in the mouth without becoming clogging at any time. It has a very good relationship between body and freshness, the work in the cellar is noticeable in the form of a rounded wine and very long aftertaste.
It can work wonderfully with a plate of rice with hare, a pizza diávola or a summer vinaigrette.
A cava that after tasting deserves the rating of Excellent, reaching a score of 92 points.
