2019 Kav Boğazkere – Öküzgözü

2019 Kav Boğazkere – Öküzgözü is a wine from Turkey, which is produced in the Ankara area, by the Kav winery. Wine made from two native Turkish red varietals that give the wine its name, Boğazkere and Öküzgözü. Undoubtedly very unknown in our country.

Medium intensity on the nose, with lots of fruit presence, both red like cherries and black for example plums, with hints of maturity and light compote. The ageing process adds toasty notes, oak, vanilla, chocolate, smoked notes, hints of figs, with a certain minerality.

The attack on the palate is certainly sweet, but without being cloying. Lots of ripe/ripe fruit, with good acidity that allows it to leave a very good structure. Tannins present but not too much and quite rounded but not too much. Good volume on the palate, full-bodied. Very persistent on the palate with a fairly long finish.

A very Mediterranean red wine, with a lot of character and power in its tasting, different from those that we find for example in Spain that deserves the qualification of Very Good, reaching a score of 89 points. Powerful at the beginning of the sip that is softening as it stops by the mouth. Very interesting to taste red wines from different wine regions of the world with substantial differences and their own characteristics.
