Nova Liguria: a wine route between Piedmont and Tuscany
The Nova Liguria wine route offers a fascinating transitional landscape between Piedmont and Tuscany, extending across southern Piedmont and into the Ligurian influence, while also bordering Emilia-Romagna. This unique geographical position creates a rich diversity of landscapes, from rolling inland hills to coastal Mediterranean scenery.
The area is renowned not only for its wines—such as Gavi DOC and Monferrato DOC—but also for its outstanding agricultural produce and strong connection to the Mediterranean diet. Wine tourism here is deeply intertwined with gastronomy, offering visitors a holistic culinary experience.
The route’s main hub is Genoa, a historic maritime city that deserves a dedicated visit thanks to its cultural heritage and vibrant port atmosphere. From there, the journey continues inland towards Novi Ligure, where numerous wineries offer immersive enotourism experiences, including accommodation within vineyard estates such as Tenuta La Marchesa.

Along the Ligurian coast, destinations such as Portofino, Imperia, La Spezia and Savona enrich the route, combining wine, sea views and charming towns.
