2022 Pagos de Araiz Rosado

2022 Pagos de Araiz Rosado is a rosé wine produced by the Pagos de Araiz winery under the D.O. Navarra. A single varietal Garnacha wine from vines with an average age of 20 years.

A complex vintage as we find a late budding and early ripening due to the weather conditions. The grapes come from different plots that are harvested separately in search of the optimum ripening point of each one of them.

Traditional vinification, with maceration and gravity bleeding. After destemming the grapes and a brief maceration, the must is extracted by bleeding, without using a press, only the drained must. Subsequent fermentation in stainless steel tanks, after which it is racked and clarified for bottling.

The result is a wine that in view in its tasting, in a still glass, leaves us a pink color with purple touches, tremendously bright and clean, with chromatic intensity and a medium layer. Bluish reflections in movement.

The nose is medium-high intensity, with a strong presence of red fruit, such as cherries or strawberries. Airing the glass the very varietal floral touches appear.

Very fresh attack on the palate, very good acidity, which leaves a vibrant passage through the palate with a step with lots of red fruit (strawberries), very good volume, sweet. Balanced, very good persistence and a fairly long finish.

A really interesting rosé from Navarra and excellent for the approaching summer heat. It shows a really excellent quality/price ratio as well.

After its tasting this wine, Pagos de Araiz Rosado 2022, deserves the rating of Very good, reaching a score of 91+ points.
