Global Wine Tourism Day — The World’s First Wine Tourism Day

The global wine tourism community will converge in Beaune on 17 June 2026, when the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne hosts the inaugural Global Wine Tourism Day — a new international forum dedicated to the evolution, challenges and future direction of wine tourism worldwide.
Who is behind it and what support it has
The event has been launched by the Wine Travel Awards in partnership with the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne, with the backing of the Burgundy Wine Board (BIVB). It is expected to bring together more than 150 professionals and decision-makers from five continents, marking a landmark date in the global wine calendar.
Format and programme
Conceived as a platform for dialogue and exchange, the Global Wine Tourism Day will bring together leading figures from the world of wine and wine tourism: sommeliers, international experts, specialist journalists and brand ambassadors. The programme will also include tastings of Burgundy wines alongside selections from other international regions, with the aim of fostering dialogue and exploring global stylistic diversity.
The highlight of the day will be the Wine Travel Awards 2025–2026 ceremony, recognising initiatives and individuals who have contributed to the development and international visibility of wine tourism. The awards presentation will be followed by a gala dinner.
The venue: the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne
Located in the heart of Beaune, the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne is a cultural facility founded and sustained by the Burgundy Wine Board, focused on the discovery and understanding of Burgundy’s terroirs.
