Aqvitania Albariño 2024, a showcase of Rías Baixas

The Aqvitania Albariño 2024 is a young white wine produced by Bodega Aquitania, a project located in Sanxenxo (Pontevedra), within the D.O. Rías Baixas, a privileged Atlantic region in Galicia where the influence of the sea clearly defines the character of the wines. This winery was founded as an initiative by a local winegrower who embraced a modern approach to winemaking, combining tradition and enological technology with the aim of expressing the true identity of Albariño in its most Atlantic environment. The wine is made from 100% Albariño grapes, sourced from vineyards with a humid climate and granitic soils, with careful selection during harvest and a winemaking process focused on preserving the freshness and primary aromas of the variety, resulting in a clean, direct, and highly varietal white wine.

On tasting, it shows a bright straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections, and a nose where ripe fruits such as apple and grapefruit, along with citrus notes, stand out, accompanied by floral hints and light white fruit nuances. On the palate, it is fresh, with good acidity, medium body, a slightly fleshy texture, and a persistent, subtly saline finish, very typical of its Atlantic character.

To decide

Its price is very accessible, typically around €9–10 per bottle, making it a highly competitive option among Rías Baixas Albariños.

It can be purchased in online wine shops, specialised wine stores, and some gourmet shops or supermarkets with a good selection of Galician wines.

It is worth trying because it offers a very pure and modern expression of Albariño: a fresh, easy-drinking wine with good fruit and a marked Atlantic profile, ideal for everyday enjoyment or to pair with seafood and fish, while still having enough personality to stand out within its category.
