2021 Heredad 26 Godello Lías
Today I bring you the tasting of this Heredad 26 Godello Lías 2021, of which we already brought you the tasting of the previous vintage, taking advantage of the fact that it has fallen into my hands and celebrating that it has recently received a silver medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, together with the awards it has received in recent competitions such as a Great Gold in the CINVE International Competition, Silver in the Real Casino de Madrid competition and Silver in Spain Selection 2023.
This is a wine produced by Heredad Morán & López Bodega y Viñedos under the D.O. Bierzo, a single varietal Godello with 6 months of work on its lees in stainless steel tanks.
100% typical of the varietal and the terroir of Bierzo, that is, freshness, lots of fruit, lively acidity, minerality and all this accompanied with a great work on the lees that gives it a very distinctive complexity and depth in the tasting.
It seems to us the ideal Godello for those of you who want to venture to discover this varietal and its wines, because you are not going to stay only in the freshness, but you will go a step further to find a wine with great structure and aging capacity.
Straw yellow tremendously bright and clean in still glass. Mostly green reflections in movement, with some lemony touches from the lees.
Nose of medium to high intensity. Lots of freshness, lots of fruit, white, citrus, light contributions to stone fruit, floral contributions, white flowers, some herbaceous, aniseed, very soft infused touches, minerality.
Fresh attack on the palate, which leaves a tasty, unctuous, medium-bodied, quite high, long on the palate, lots of fruit, freshness, lively and vibrant acidity on the palate. Very good persistence and a very very long finish for a wine that has not been aged in oak.
As I said, it is undoubtedly a great wine with a wonderful lees work that gives it intensity on the nose and depth on the palate that you will not find in the usual young wines.
For all of the above, it is a wine that after tasting deserves the rating of Excellent, reaching a score of 92+ points.
