Arca Nova is the flagship wine of Quinta das Arcas, a family-owned winery from the Portuguese region of Vinho Verde. This is their 2024 vintage.
Quinta das Arcas is a biodynamically certified winery founded in 1985. Today the family owns over 200 hectares of vineyard and produces seven distinct varieties, as well as cheese, olive oil and aguardente.
Arca Nova Branco is a blend of the region’s most representative varieties: 50% Loureiro, 30% Arinto, 10% Trajadura and 10% Avesso. The grapes come from vineyards with excellent sun exposure and a very dry climate, which favours the production of high-quality wines with fresh and distinctive aromas. Both fermentation and ageing take place in stainless steel tanks in order to preserve all of that freshness.
Tasting Notes — 2024 Vintage
The Arca Nova 2024 presents a bright, clean lemon yellow colour. On the nose it offers fresh and fruity aromas dominated by green apple, with subtle hints of other fruits. On the palate it shows a gentle minerality, a very well-balanced medium structure and a clean, pleasant finish. The combination of fruity freshness and aromatic richness makes for a thoroughly delightful drinking experience.
It carries the light effervescence characteristic of Vinho Verde, which enlivens the palate with notes of Asian pear, green apple and light melon, finishing with a refreshing touch of acidity.
