2022 Heredad Morán & López Heredad 26 Mencía
Bodegas Heredad Morán & López elaborates this wine, single varietal Mencía, Heredad 26 Mencía 2022, a young wine of which I have been able to enjoy the tasting since it saw the light back in 2019, with which it is the fourth vintage that I can enjoy this excellent example of Mencía wine from Bierzo.
And in this vintage I have perceived a certain difference with respect to the previous ones since, although it follows the same elaboration, the size of the grape was reduced by 30% with respect to other years which has made the winery has worked very well the extraction achieving a greater concentration of aromas and depth in the mouth preserving the freshness of this varietal and the youth of the elaboration without wood. This new vintage of this Heredad 26 Mencía 2022 shows a fairly intense cherry red cherry color, with a medium layer with hints of high layer, bright, clean in still glass, with violet reflections in movement. A movement with a lot of tears, perhaps the vintage with the most of those I have tasted the wine.
Quite high intensity, lots of red fruit, floral touches such as violets, some roses, light vegetal minerality, with balsamic contributions when moving the glass that show very good balance.
The palate is fresh attack, very fruity, with a very good acidity that gives a vibrant step, which is joined by a good volume and a tasty step fruit of the work of extraction that I mentioned at the beginning. Light bitterness very rich, very good persistence and a fairly long finish, being as it is a young wine.
A vintage with a different touch from the previous ones but which shows very well the versatility and style in winemaking of this winery, Heredad Morán & López.
After tasting, it is a wine that deserves the rating of Very Good, reaching a score of 91+ points.
