The hot weather is coming, time for rosé wines. Our recommendations
The hottest time of the year is approaching, although with climate change it is becoming increasingly difficult to know when the heat will arrive. But it is always a time when rosé wines have a great presence. Therefore, today we are going to present a series of rosé wines that we are sure you are going to love.
We try to give you a varied offer in terms of areas and grapes to suit your tastes and you can choose a wine that best suits your profile.
We start with a wine produced under the D.O. Navarra. It is the wine Pagos de Araiz Rosado 2022, produced by the winery Pagos de Araiz.
A wine that in sight leaves us a pink color with purple touches, tremendously bright and clean, with chromatic intensity and a medium layer. The nose is of medium-high intensity, with a strong presence of red fruit, such as cherries or strawberries. Airing the glass appear very varietal floral touches. A very fresh attack mouth, very good acidity, which leaves a vibrant passage through the palate with a step with lots of red fruit (strawberries), very good volume, sweet. Balanced, very good persistence and a fairly long finish. (Tasting )
Our second recommendation is the wine SOMMOS Rosé 2021, produced by Bodega SOMMOS under the Somontano DO. In this case we are talking about a wine made with two grapes, Syrah and Garnacha, from different plots.
A wine very representative of the rigorous and complex terroir of Somontano. Tremendously fresh throughout its tasting, intense, complex. In view leaves us a pale pink color, of medium intensity, with bluish reflections in movement of the glass, bright and clean. A nose of high intensity, very fruity with hints of citrus, red fruits and floral contributions. Very fresh attack on the palate, full of character, with lots of fruit, great acidity that leaves good structure, tannic touches, good volume on the palate, great persistence and long finish. A tremendously elegant wine. (Tasting )
Our third recommendation is Livius Rosado Fermentado en Barrica, a rosé wine produced by Bodegas Alvia under the protection of the DOCa Rioja.
This is a single varietal Garnacha but, unlike the previous wines, it is a wine with fermentation and barrel aging of 12 months, which gives it a complexity more typical of red wines. A strawberry-raspberry color in a still glass, with great chromatic intensity and bluish reflections. Powerful nose, of great intensity, complex, combining lots of red fruit, raspberries, strawberries or cherries, with floral notes and a contribution of the barrel with light toasted, spicy and balsamic touches. The attack on the palate is full of character, powerful, very good acidity, with great structure thanks to the barrel. Lots of fruit, spices, toast and tannins. Great volume on the palate. Huge persistence and very long finish. (Tasting )
Our fourth recommendation is a wine made with the Mencía varietal. We are talking about Buleza 2022, produced by Bodegas Heredad Morán & López under the D.O. Bierzo.
Made by bleeding, with a very limited production, it is made with the must from the first pressing. Tremendously fresh, fruity, full of hints of strawberries, jelly beans, juicy on the palate, with a great job of extraction that allows it to leave the structure on the palate of a red wine. Intense yet sparkling on the palate. Intense raspberry-pink color. Nose of great intensity, with lots of fruit, floral, jelly beans, some balsamic contributions. Very fresh attack on the palate, with good acidity, vibrant on the palate. Lots of fruit. Great persistence and long finish thanks to its very good structure as we mentioned above. (Tasting )
Our fifth recommendation is the wine Cueva del Chamán Rosado Syrah 2022, produced by Bodegas Sta. Cruz de Alpera in the D.O. Almansa, single varietal Syrah.
We already knew the whites and reds of this range of Cueva del Chamán produced by this winery, which we tasted some time ago and we loved them. Well, this rosé is not far behind. A huge and pleasant surprise its tasting that leaves us with a single varietal Syrah of enormous character and personality, combining very well the freshness of this wine profile with the personality of a grape as ‘characterful’ as Syrah. Character, freshness, combined with a very good complexity, full-bodied, very good structure. With a wide range of aromas, intense and deep in the mouth and with a very ‘Provençal style’ color with a very clean and bright pale pink.
Our sixth recommendation is the wine Sinfo Rosado Fermentado en Barrica, produced by Bodegas Sinforiano under the D.O. Cigales.
With a blend of 80% Tempranillo, 10% Albillo and 10% Verdejo, fermented in 500 L American oak barrels and then aged on lees in 225 L French oak barrels for 6 months, it allows us to enjoy a rosé wine with the body and sensations of a red wine and the liveliness and freshness of a white wine. Great volume in the mouth, lots of fruit, elegant, with great persistence and a really long finish.
