2022 Seulalia San Lorenzo Godello

Today I bring you the tasting of this wine, single varietal Godello, Seulalia San Lorenzo Godello 2022, produced by Bodegas y Viñedos Anselmo Álvarez, a project that produces its wines in Bierzo and from which I brought you a few days ago its Mencia.

Second vintage of this wine that has not yet been bottled and that reflects to perfection, even more than the first vintage, the typicality of this varietal and the terroir of Bierzo.

It comes from very old vines on the one hand (some of them over a hundred years old) and on the other from vines that are only a few years old. The combination of typicity and freshness, as well as the character they give to the wine, make it a young wine, without aging, with a good work of lees, which have a huge personality.

A wine that in still glass leaves us a straw yellow color, with some greenish reflections in movement, bright, clean, with a fluid tear.

The nose has a high intensity, even before aerating the glass. Deeper than the previous vintage. Very varietal, with white fruit, citrus, light stone fruit, floral contributions (white flowers) after movement in the glass, light herbaceous aromas, very fresh earthy minerality.

The palate is really fresh attack, lots of fruit, very good acidity that leaves a great structure and ability to refine in the bottle which undoubtedly predicts that in a few months will be even richer. Medium volume, slightly unctuous, tasty, a very rich bitter finish, which gives it liveliness on the palate. Very good persistence and a fairly long finish for a young wine without aging.

A very good wine, undoubtedly, for my taste, better than the first vintage, so it deserves the rating of Very Good, reaching a score of 91+ points.
