2017 Taylors Promised Land Chardonnay
2017 Taylors Promised Land Chardonnay, this is a single varietal Chardonnay wine made in South Africa, specifically in the Clare Valley area. Wine from organic viticulture.
A white wine quite rich in the tasting with slight complexity fruit of the time spent in bottle refining, with a medium body pulling to high that fills the palate very well in the passage through the mouth.
In view leaves us a straw yellow color with some golden reflections, very bright and clean in standing glass even with time even retaining some greenish edge. Good tear.
Aromas in nose of medium-high intensity. Lots of fruit, with hints of citrus, hints of stone fruit, light tropical, with hints of nuts, light balsamic,
Fresh attack, with lots of fruit with fleshy yellow peach, subtle pineapple and citrus flavors. It has a refreshing, palate-tight acidity that helps it leave a voluminous, medium-bodied, yet vibrant mouthfeel. A clean and quite long finish with very good persistence. Aftertaste with lots of fruit as well.
Not a Chardonnay from France or California in terms of complexity, but a very good example of the wines this varietal gives us in South Africa. A very good gastronomic wine that also offers the possibility of multiple and varied pairings without a doubt.
This is a wine that, after tasting, deserves the rating of Very Good, reaching a score of 89+ points.
