2017 Ángel Sequeiros Albariño Lías

Today we taste this wine, 2017 Ángel Sequeiros Albariño Lías. For this we travel to Tea County, in the heart of the Rías Baixas DO, to discover this «single varietal Albariño made by the Ángel Sequeiros winery.

This wine comes from the Quinta Gaviñeira vineyard, very close to the Miño river and blessed with a soil with a fine layer of clayey sand, on a weathered granitic substrate, which ends up providing a large amount of mineral nuances.

Vineyard work is carried out with minimal intervention, dispensing with fertilizers or herbicides. It also receives a green pruning always seeking to maximize quality.

It was bottled in September 2020 and had a very small production of only 1300 bottles.

In the visual phase we find a beautiful wine of straw yellow color with greenish reflections. It is extremely clean and bright. It stands out for its good density.

In the olfactory phase we can speak of a very fragrant wine of high intensity, preserves aromatic memories of white flowers, acacia, balsamic, green tea, citrus and a slightly smoky and mineral background.

The taste phase highlights a powerful entry wine, with high acidity, and an unctuous passage through the tongue. All the above notes are remarkably balanced, offering a very complex and pleasant wine. The retronasal highlights the profiles of stone fruit, nuts, saline and mineral notes.

A wine that after tasting deserves the rating of Excellent. A jewel of an Albariño wine with an enormous personality and differentiated character.
