2016 El Enemigo Cabernet Franc

Today we cross the pond to Argentina to present this magnificent wine, El Enemigo Cabernet Franc 2016, produced in the Mendoza area by Bodega Aleanna.

Although in its name it carries a varietal, the truth is that this is 90% in addition to carrying 10% Malbec. The grapes used to make this red wine come from Tupungato and are grown in vineyards located at an altitude of over 1,400 meters above sea level.

After a 28-day maceration, the wine is vinified with indigenous yeasts at a maximum temperature of 28 ºC for 22 days. Finally, it is aged for 15 months in 100-year-old barrels.

A wine that at this moment is already reaching its fullness, if not already there.

In view, to glass stopped, it leaves us a ruby red color very covered, intense, brilliant and clean. Cardinal reflections in movement.

Nose with great intensity, where the tertiaries are already very well perceived by the time it has been in bottle. Ripe fruit, spicy notes such as pepper when moving the glass, balsamic touches, minerality – stony.

Powerful attack on the palate, very fine acidity that gives it very good structure and cellaring capacity. Refined tannins, elegant, tasty, fleshy, with very good volume. Very good persistence and a really long finish.

After tasting it is a wine that we can qualify as Excellent.
