2016 Domaine Rolet Arbois Trousseau
We move to France, more specifically to the Jura (AOC Arbois-Pupillin) to present this fantastic wine, 2016 Domaine Rolet Arbois Trousseau (made by Domaine Rolet). Trousseau is an obscure, local variely in the sub-Alpine Jura region of eastern France not far from the Swiss border.
Made from vineyards planted in the communes of Montigny-lès-Arsures on the slopes in «Chagnon» and «Leuvrin», as well as in Arbois in the place called «Montesserin». Exposed mainly to the west and south, the soils are rich in iridescent marls and chaille clays, preferred soils of the Trousseau.
This brilliant Trosseau is aged for 9 months, 50% in French oak barrels and the remaining 50% in steel tanks.
A wine that in sight leaves us in glass stop a ripe and dry cherry color, with a medium layer, bright and clean.
A nose with a very good intensity, lots of fresh fruit, mainly red. When aerating the glass, hints of leather, touches of wet earth and flint appear.
A slightly dry attack, fresh, with lots of fruit, very good acidity, a passage through the palate with a medium volume, salinity in the background.
A wine that I really love, one of those that is well worth tasting in a quiet way and enjoying it.
