2015 Château Haut-Gravet Grand Cru

Today we move to the great area of Bordeaux (France), more specifically to the town of A.O.C Saint-Emilion, to present this very rich wine, 2015 Château Haut-Gravet Grand Cru. Winemaker Château Haut-Gravet.

A wine that is made from a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, from vineyards of about 40 years of age. It is aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels of medium toast.

It is a super representative wine of the area in a vintage is 2015 rated as excellent, achieving great maturity in their grapes.

Intense in view, deep, very high layer. Cardinal reflections.

A wine that is very powerful throughout all phases of the tasting with a good tannic presence. In the mouth it may appear a bit dry at the beginning but it soon mitigates. The acidity is excellent, which allows it to present a very good structure and cellaring capacity.

Intense on the nose, complex, powerful, fruity aromas, tertiary aromas very present due to its time in bottle. Toasted, spicy, balsamic, complex but very balanced.

Attack as I said dry at the beginning, ample volume, very persistent and a very long and complex finish as in the nose.

A wine that after tasting deserves the rating of Excellent. A wine with an enormous life, for many years although it is already ideal at this moment.

Its tasting in pairing leaves really spectacular sensations. A great recommendation to get to know more about the wines of this area of France, Bordeaux.
