Finca Manzanos Graciano 2018 and Finca Manzanos Garnacha 2020, Manzanos Wines
Finca Manzanos Graciano 2018 and Finca Manzanos Garnacha 2020, two varietals that are a great reflection of their grape variety. Wines produced by Bodegas Manzanos (Manzanos Wines) under the DOCa Rioja. Very honest, which intensely present the character and typicity of the Rioja terroir, as well as the essence of both varietals with which they are made.
Both are wines aged for around 6 months in order to mantain the grapes characteristics intact.
Finca Manzanos Graciano 2018 is a wine that leaves us in the still glass with a cherry red color of medium chromatic intensity, slightly high middle layer at times, clean and bright, with moving violet and purple reflections.
Medium intensity nose, with a strong presence of black fruit. the short aging in barrels of only 6 months, gives it a soft, subtle barrel presence, without too much presence, with contributions of ripe fruit, light florals, soft and sweet spices, vanilla notes.
Mouth with a fairly fresh attack, contribution of ripe fruit, presence of the aging that gives it spicy contributions. Fairly ripe tannins. Good acidity that helps to leave a good persistence. Medium-long finish.
After its tasting, a wine that deserves the rating of Excellent with 92 points.
Finca Manzanos Garnacha 2020, also presents a 6-month aging in French oak barrels that helps to ‘tame’ the wild character of Garnacha. Unlike the previous Graciano, this wine in a still glass leaves us with a red color with slight pinkish tones, with a clean and bright middle layer and violet rims in movement.
Very fresh nose, medium intensity, with a clear presence of fruity aromas, lots of black fruit, with ripe contributions from aging in wood, including light touches of red fruit. After aerating it in the glass, floral contributions, spicy contributions, touches of wood, chocolate, vanilla,… Slight background minerality appear.
Fresh attack on the palate, lots of fruit, very good acidity, good structure that will undoubtedly give it a few years in cellar and help to give it more character. Very easy to drink, round, balanced, with good persistence and a medium finish. Like his brother Graciano, after tasting it is a wine that reaches the rating of Excellent, with a score of 92 points.
Undoubtedly two wines that very well reflect the varietals with which they are made, to which is added a very good reflection of the Rioja terroir. Wines that are honest, as I like to say, that show us what they have inside without tabus.
