Dominios de Berceo Graciano 2014

Dominios de Berceo Graciano 2014 is a wine made by Bodegas Berceo under the DOCa Rioja. As you can imagine, we are dealing with a Graciano monovarietal, a complicated grape, in addition to vines planted in 1940 (1.6 kg/vine yield), which makes the complexity even greater. But, without a doubt, this winery has had a very good hand in the production of this wine, knowing how to raise the bar for wines made with this varietal.

In addition, the chosen elaboration makes it a wine that, despite its age (we are talking about a 2014), preserves its freshness very well. After fermenting in open French oak barrels, it is aged for 6 months in concrete amphorae of 1,500 l , which undoubtedly helps the fruit arrive very well at its tasting today.

A wine that leaves us with a cherry red color in the glass, very bright and clean, with a fairly high layer, good intensity in the tear, fluid and wide. Cardinal motion reflections.

The nose presents a fairly high intensity, with a strong presence of frank aromas of red fruit, light touches of black fruit helped by the long stay in the bottle. When aerating the glass, we get balsamic touches, chocolate, smoked like tobacco, as well as herbaceous contributions with a light mineral background. Complex aromatic set but very fresh.

The attack on the palate is wide and very fresh, something that is surprising in a 2014, Wide on the palate, with a lot of fruit and freshness. Very good acidity, good structure that has helped it reach today’s tasting with the sensations that I am telling you about. Worked, ripe, elegant tannins. Very good volume and good persistence. Pretty long finish.

Dominios de Berceo Graciano 2014, a wine that, after tasting, deserves the rating of Excellent, reaching a score of 92 points.
